We had a nice walk through the trees and even our pups had a good time! We did hear some rustling in the woods which turned out to be large birds!

One of the best nature trails in the Keys, of which there are very few. Good example of the natural Keys before they were "developed." A nice 1.5 mile walk along mainly flat dirt and rock terrain. Watch out for the roots on the trail. Mainly shaded path but can get hot in the summer months. Great place for kids to run around.

This delightful trail winds around the hammock displaying a wide variety of plants and trees only possible where it never freezes and is always wet. From a variety of palms and cactus, there are beautiful plants packed together along the trail. This is a heads down trail, meaning you need to watch your step among chunks of coral and tree roots. Stop every few feet and look up at the canopy. You will see a wonderful diversity of trees competing for sunlight. At one point, the forest opens for a view of the bay. A bench encourages you to sit and enjoy the view.

Hiking shoes highly recommended. Great South Florida coral rock limestone hiking. Nice variety of native trees. Lollipop loop type of trail.

Would recommend skipping this one. Very uneven terrain with roots, limbs, etc. covering the trail. Bring lots of bug spray or they will carry you away. Nothing is marked in the jungle-like trail. I did enjoy the bench out in the water near the head of the trail. Nice clear water there. If you are following Google directions, there is a tiny sign that tells you the trail is off to the right from the tiny parking lot. You will not see anything from the road. Hope you like wildlife like snakes, lizards, etc.

This was an amazing hike! Reminded us of something out of Indiana Jones. We saw lots of wildlife but not a single other human. Be mindful of the tide. We ended up treading through 4" of water for a short section by the trailhead.

Unbelievable rocky uneven terrain. I felt like I was hiking on the moon. I didn't enjoy it at all and would have liked a way to exit early. I regretted not turning around. I hoped that the trail would improve but it just got worse. So many recommendations which I do not understand.

Wonderful way to see and feel the coral limestone that's talked about in the Keys. The overlook was right at the water and was very calming and peaceful.

Be mindful of the cacti on the trail ?
