So pretty! We parked here and walked to New Belgium Brewing Company and back. We walked up to the brewery, so from start to finish, it was just under 3 miles for us. Very nice and leisurely walk with other walkers and bikers, but it wasn’t overly crowded at 11:45 am on Saturday, 5/18/24. It took us an hour. Definitely recommend! We suggest wearing sunscreen and bringing water because there’s not very much shade.

Beautiful park! It's soooo green and well maintained. I see some people hung their hammocks on the trees. Great idea!! This is a great place to relax or go for a picnic. Lots of shade.

There are not a lot of parking, luckily we were able to get a spot. The restroom is right next to the parking lot, didn't have a chance to check it out to see if it's clean but looked fine from the outside.

The park is one of the stops that link to the long walk way along the river. It's a great trail, easy & flat with beautiful nature, calming environment. Highly recommend taking a walk here.

We also walked by a decent size dog park. They split it into 2 areas for large dogs and small dogs. Lots of room for your dogs to run around and play with other dogs. Looked like they were pretty happy!

We love this park. Great place to relax or exercise. Also, I love to bring our dog to the dog park. My family has been going here for years. This day we went to the new labyrinth and walked it. We love uaing labyrinths as a tool for meditation. We took our dog, Betelgeuse, to the dog park, then went home. Great way to spend a Saturday.

Resorration in progress from what was once a beautiful Greenway, dog park, river scenery amidst the river arts district then hurricane Helene left it barren temporarily. See the Christmas white lights out up at the entrance and return to see the process of French broad returning to an even better come back?

Great place for a stroll by the river. If you have dogs it's one of the best dog parks in town too. I love that they connected the bike path through there so it makes it a great place to bike as well now.

Unlike Azalea, they don’t have a “small dog area” and a “big dog area.” I think this helps prevent a lot of altercations between bigger and smaller dogs. A lot of smaller dogs are so intimidated that they can’t handle being around a bunch of med/large dogs all at once. It also keeps dog owners from getting in fights because there’s designated areas for the different weight class of dogs. That being said, I have never had an issue with another dog owner, people have all been really nice. One time I left my phone on a picnic table put it in lost mode and immediately someone called my wife to let me know they would stay with it until I came back to grab it. Coming to the conclusion that 19 out of 20 people at dog parks in Asheville are pretty reasonable.

Great park for a quick stop and picnic, especially if you like to watch dogs galavant around the dog park clearly having the time of their doggie lives. Also several spots where folks are letting their dogs play in the river. Major downside was lack of shade on the river walk trail itself, only the trail in the immediate park area had good shade, the rest was in full sun. Plenty of shady spots to sit in the park however.
